Family Sponsorships of Bathroom Renovation Project
A big thanks are in order to those families that made a family sponsorship pledge, those members that participated in the numerous fundraising opportunities, and the local businesses that helped support our club through business sponsorships. Roughly half of the funds raised to date came through business and family sponsorships. Please thank our business sponsors for patronizing their establishments and thanking them for their donation to our club.
Our 220-family membership raised $8800, which is roughly 24% of the cost needed to renovate the bathrooms. We are asking for any families willing to step forward to sponsor this project. Sponsor opportunities are as follows: • $150 Sponsorship – With this gift, your family name will be added to the fundraising banner, and you will receive a newly designed River Oak Swim & Racquet Club t-shirt as a thank-you gift. • $200 Business Sponsorship – With this gift, your company logo can be added to the fundraising banner and our upcoming newsletters. ◦ If anyone has a business or knows someone with a business that supports the community to provide Sherri or Brandy the name(s). We will contact them to discuss a business sponsorship. ▪ Brandy: [email protected] ▪ Sherri: [email protected]
If you are interested in making one of these gifts or a donation in any amount, please contact Carol Hawkins, Treasurer, at [email protected] to arrange payment for these funds.

Memorial Day was a success, and we thank everyone who volunteered to help, contributed to food donations, and everyone who came out to make the event enjoyable for all. We have a special community, and the memories we create last a lifetime.
Weekend Gate Workers Needed: Madison or Ava will work the sign-in table Saturday, Sunday, and holidays from 11am – 5pm.
They will be checking you in, along with your guests. Please remember that it’s a policy that a guest can only come a maximum of three times in a season. Guest fees are $2/person.
Parking: We understand and are aware that our parking lot has minimal parking spots, especially during swim meets, holidays, or busy weekends. However, please do not park in unpathed spaces in the parking lot where there is pine straw, and please do not park in the grass lining the sidewalk or street. There is a draining issue that the county is actively working on; they’ve planted grass to help with the flooding. Please ensure that this area is not parked on so that the issue can be resolved.
Primrose Day Care and the Dental Office have graciously offered their parking lots to us on the weekends and during home meets.
Buildings & Grounds Replacement: Sadly, we announce that David Hauert, our Buildings & Grounds Director, and his beautiful family are moving next month. While we wish them all the best, we will miss them deeply. We thank him for all his time and contribution to our pool.
We are looking for a replacement for David. If you are interested, please reach out to [email protected].
David, thank you again for your time and commitment to our club.
Family Sponsorships of Bathroom Renovation Project If you attended last month’s general membership meeting on April 16th or read recent newsletters, you know that we are working hard on some large-scale projects for the club. One of these, the bathroom renovation, is a project that I have heard many members discuss throughout the last few years. Great news– we are very close to making this happen!
The estimates we have received are between $35,000 – $40,000. We need an additional source of funding to make this project a reality. Our goal is for this project to get underway this fall, if financially possible.
In addition to several fundraising activities planned for the summer, we are asking for any families willing to step forward to sponsor this project. We are requesting the following:
-$150 Sponsorship – With this gift, your family name would be added to the fundraising banner, and you will receive a newly designed River Oak Swim & Racquet Club t-shirt as a thank you gift. -$200 Business Sponsorship – With this gift, your company logo can be added to the fundraising banner and our upcoming newsletters.
If you are interested in making one of these gifts, or a donation in any amount, please contact Carol Hawkins, Treasurer, at [email protected] to arrange payment as these funds.
All donations made will be collected in a separate Building Renovations account. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get started on this project!

One of these, the bathroom renovation, is a project that I have heard many members discuss over the course of the last few years. Great news– we are very close to making this happen!
David Hauert, our Building & Grounds chairperson, has invested a great deal of time and energy meeting with contractors and plumbers to arrive at a detailed scope of work for the project. In addition, he has obtained estimated pricing for the changes. His proposed scope of work includes:
Re-slope and resurface the bathroom floors so that any water carried in would flow properly to a drain.
Install a trench style drain in each restroom and an additional drain in each.
Replace the hot water heater
Replace toilets in the ladies’ room. Remove and reset other plumbing fixtures.
Replace the partitions in the ladies’ room – we are working on a configuration
Install new doors.
The estimates we have received are between $35,000 – $40,000. We need an additional source of funding in order to make this project a reality. Our goal is for this project to get underway this fall, if financially possible. We believe the project is necessary and important to our members so we are appealing to you for help.
In addition to a number of fundraising activities planned for the summer, we are asking for any families that are willing to step forward to sponsor this project. We are requesting the following:
