First Annual River Oak Swim and Racquet Club “Topless’ Party”

Posted on March 26, 2014March 27, 2014 by Michael

We plan on removing the top (cover) from the pool the first weekend of May, the opening weekend of the summer pool season.  Therefore, we would like to celebrate poolside.  We’ve heard from many of you that we need to have more social events.  So, with that said….

Saturday May 3rd, 2014

6:00 pm – setup of your table – get creative on your decorations with a party theme!

7:00 – 10:00 pm – dinner and dancing with a band (TBD)

10:00 – clean up

TOPLESS party to include a Chastain Night type atmosphere.  There will be 30 round tables for purchase for an evening of dinner and dancing.  The tables will cost $50 and seat at least SIX people (or three couples).  This is a fun, adults-only event. Tables and chairs are provided. Each group decorates their table for a prize. BYOB and Food. So, buy a table and gather your friends for a fun evening to celebrate the opening of the pool season!  The people that sit at your table do NOT have to be members, in fact, it’s a GREAT way to introduce the pool to your neighbors and friends that may be considering joining a swim and tennis!!

Tables will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.  So, please secure your table early!

This is a 21 and older event, NO children.

Remember that there is NO glass allowed at the pool, so your beverages must be in cans, or plastic containers.

Please join us in this first annual extravaganza evening for what will surely become an annual tradition!!

Mandatory Work Day

Posted on September 13, 2013 by Michael
Dear Members,
Hope all are doing well and enjoying the end of the summer season.  Our next work day will be on September 28th with a make up day the next Saturday (10/5) if the weather is bad.  We will start around 8 am and should be finished by 1 pm.  Water and snacks will be provided as long as you bring a smiling face.  There will be staining and painting involved so please wear clothes that can get ruined.  Take care and we will see you on the 28th.
Members are required to attend one work day a year or serve in an approved capacity at a function to avoid the $50 fine.
Thanks,

Danny Cook

July 4th Celebration Rescheduled

Posted on July 3, 2013 by Michael

As I watch the puddles form out my window, I realize that the meteorologist might get it right this time. Earlier in the week I had hope since Monday and Tuesday were such nice days. Due to this inclement weather we are going to move the July 4thfestivities to this Saturday July 6th.  I hope that this change will allow for the rain to clear out. The schedule of events will remain as planned for the pool Saturday, however due to the date change there will not be a tennis round robin.  If you are scheduled to volunteer for the 4th and will not be able to participate on Saturday please let me know. Also we still have some slots available for additional volunteers.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me, see you Saturday!
