We look forward to you celebrating the 4th of July with us this Wednesday. We will be grilling hot dogs, hamburgers, brats and yes we will have corn too. We still need some help with the grill and serving food, remember you can earn your workday credits by helping out while having fun. While we celebrate America together we will have a DJ spinning your favorite hits. As always, we rely on our members to bring their favorite sides, desserts, salads, fruit, and chips to compliment the main course. Our July 4th tennis round robin begins promptly at 9 AM hosted by Charmaine MacKenzie and assisted by Angela Walsh.

*The round robin is open to players ages 16 & over.
*There will be two sign up sheets available.
*9 AM – The first 16 people to sign up on the sign up sheet play for one hour. The top four point winners advance to finals.
*10 AM – The next 16 players to sign up on the sign up sheet play for one hour. The top four point winners advance to finals.
*If there are not enough players to fill the 10 AM time slot, players from the 9 AM time slot may opt to fill in and get a second chance at the title.
*11 AM – The top eight point winners play in a final playoff.
*12 PM – Free play begins.

Of course, Charmaine & Angela reserve the right to change the format depending on the number of participants. Please remain flexible and understanding.

Hello Families – Panda Express Fundraiser dinner from 5-9pm on Scenic Highway!  Our team gets 20% of total sales!  What a great and easy way to raise money for our team!  No cooking, great food and perfect time to socialize  with all our wonderful families!  Treat yourself to dinner out to celebrate and prepare for our last swim meet on Thursday against Rivermist!  Let’s see if we can raise even more money than we did last week!!! ($860 in sales, $172 in cash to ROR!!)

Congratulations to our Memorial Day tennis round robin winners!  Joel Bagley & Ann Porter won bragging rights as this year’s champions after a hard fought tie breaker over semi-finalists Joe McKenzie & Ben Grier.  Thank you to Mary Koerner for organizing the event.

Let the countdown to summer vacation begin! Make plans to celebrate Memorial Day with us, Monday May 28th. The festivities kick-off at 11:00 with our annual Pig Roast and cookout. This year we have a live band, Daybreaker, from noon-4:00 to liven things up. Sign-up sheets are at the pool now for those willing to help roast the pig and set up/clean up (workday credit opportunity). Family, friends and prospective members are welcome. Dust off your flip flops and mark your calendar.

There will be a Tennis Round Robin starting a 9am. The event is open to all ages and skill levels and will be a Doubles Format.

Don’t forget to tell your friends the value of a River Oak Swim and Racquet Club Membership. River Oak Swim and Racquet is a place to relax by the pool, play some tennis on the courts, or celebrate with friends. We have club sponsored social events on Memorial Day, the 4^th of July, and Labor Day. Food, spirits, sunshine, friends…we cover it all.

And don’t forget members receive a $100 credit for each new member they refer!

The River Oak Swim and Racquet Club Pool opened today for the summer swim season and is open to members and registered guests. Life Guards will be on duty and the diving boards will be reattached when the local schools begin summer break. In the mean time swim at your own risk. See you at the pool!
