A LTTLE TIDBIT ABOUT OUR BOARD MEMBERS
President – Maryanne Brown
I would like to welcome everyone to our beautiful club. My name is Mary Anne Brown and I am the President of this fantastic place. I have been an active member since we joined in 2000. My husband Dan and I have 4 grown adult children and have been enjoying the club for many years. I am also a teacher at Gwin Oaks Elementary and love seeing some of my old and new students enjoying our club. I would like to wish all of our members a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Vice President – Lulie Dunham
My family has been members of the club since 2006. My children have grown up in this close-knit community swimming on the swim team and playing recreational tennis on our courts. We have made many long-lasting friendships over the years. The club backing up to our property brought a unique vested interest. I have previously served two terms as the Pool Chair during the recent renovation and a year as President. I look forward to serving our community as Vice President. My goal is to ensure members continue to enjoy the club and build long-lasting memories with their families.
Treasurer – Erin Thompson
My name is Erin Thompson and I am your new Treasurer. I am a math teacher and Math Department Co-Chair at Brookwood High School. I am also the Senior Class Sponsor, Director of Football Managers, Sponsor/Coach for Brookwood Ultimate Frisbee, and in charge of the Diamond Girls for Brookwood Baseball. I am married to Matt Thompson (a software developer and the program director/head coach for Brookwood Ultimate), and we are the proud parents of Walden (5th Grade, age 10) and our twins, Ezra and Fiona (Kindergarten, age 5). We are very active in our community through our kids sports, including River Oak Rapids. My family loves our Brookwood community, and I am very excited to get more involved with River Oak Swim and Racquet.
Public Relations – Kasia Palmaka
My family and I have been proud & happy members of ROSRC for 3 years. I am originally from New York and have lived in Georgia for 20 years. You all probably know my wild child, Liam – 7 years old, from being at the pool ALL THE TIME. He is MY everything. My son, sister, friends and I love our pool, the members and their families. I can’t imagine Summer Time without it! I took on the PR position during COVID this year and am proud to be an integral part of the Board and community. I am always available to listen to your needs and open to discuss ideas about making ROSRC the BEST!
Secretary – Carol Hawkins
My family has been members of ROSRC for almost 10 years. My husband Frank; children Katie, Matt, Colleen; and 6 grandchildren enjoy the pool so very much. I especially have enjoyed the pool since I retired from teaching a couple of years ago. Since then, I have met more members and enjoy seeing these folks at the pool. I became the ROSRC Secretary when I saw an email stating the need a year and a half ago. I enjoy working to keep the club such a wonderful place.
Membership – Christie Burton
I am your current membership chair, going on my fourth year. I am married to Jeff and have two daughters, the youngest is a senior in high school. We have been members of River Oak for 6 years now, where we initially started out on the swim team. I grew up in this area and love being able to raise our kids in this fabulous community! I love River Oak Club and really enjoy meeting new members and showing them what a wonderful club we have. Even through these difficult times, we have all worked together and made it possible to keep our club open! I am so thankful to all of our board members and all our club members. I look forward to making this next year even better!
