River Oaks Swim & Racquet Club Members: 

Due to lack of members volunteering for Open Board positions, the Open General Board Meeting will be postponed until Sunday, November 7th at 7:00pm. at the pool pavilion. The Board has several open positions that need to be filled. 

Listed are ALL the Board positions that make this club run smoothly:

President, Vice President, Membership, Treasurer, Social, Pool, Tennis, Buildings and Ground, Jr. Social, PR, and Secretary. 

Please consider volunteering to be on the Board. We are really a fun group to work with. 

*At the Open General Board Meeting- The Board would like to discuss/vote on incentives to members that volunteer to serve on the board for 2 years.  

We have received several members who are interested in running for the Board! Thank you for your replies and your names will be added to our ballot.

ROSRC Season 2021 Update

Good evening ROSRC Members!

With about 10 days remaining of our pool being open, I wanted to follow up on some “housekeeping” items and some reminders!

1.  LAST CALL!!!!    

Please Submit Your Name for Election Time!!!   As a proud ROSRC Board Member, I welcome you to join us in helping keep ROSRC safe & awesome for all our members and their families to enjoy!  If you are interested in running for any openROSRC Board Member positions, and haven’t already responded, please respond to this email with your full name.

2.  ROSRC Pool has removed the diving boards and is now open with “Swim At Your Own Risk”.  An ADULT MUST BE PRESENT with children at the pool whether the children are swimming or not swimming.  The pool will close on October 1st. 

3.  GATE HOURS until pool closes on September 30th

     7:00am – 8:00pm  (Sun Up  ’til Sun Down)

4.  Work credits are still available!!!  

If for some reason you have not already fulfilled your work credit for 2021, or cannot fulfill during this month, we may have some opportunities this Fall/Winter Season.  As always, you can contribute your $50 towards ROSRC’s beautification.  Please reply to this email if you are interested in a work credit and I will let you know what dates and times are available.  

5.  Tennis Courts will continue to remain OPEN and we do have LEAGUES should you want to join!

As always, ROSRC thanks all our members and their guests for keeping ROSRC safe & awesome!  Please enjoy these last days of pool season 2021.  

ROSRC Labor Day | Potluck

ROSRC Labor Day | Potluck Monday, September 6th Lunch Potluck begins @ 12:30 PM

The last large gathering of the pool season is here & we would love to spend the afternoon with each of you! Our last gathering will be a member potluck (bringing back tradition from pre COVID)! Please read below on ways you can sign up to volunteer, and donate.

 
Please remember that each person is a member and as a member it’s the individual’s responsibility to clean up after themselves and families. Without the help of each member, gatherings like these would not be possible! 


Club will provide: (of course we welcome donations – see signup sheet below for details) – Water bottles – A mixture of soda – Grilled hot dogs, hamburgers & toppings (if you’d prefer vegan/vegetarian/plant based options please bring and we will grill for you!)- 20 LBS Pulled pork – Thank you Derek Puckett for volunteering to provide for our members! – Individually wrapped snacks (chips, cookies, etc.) – Music – Thank you DJ Tony! – Popsicles 


Volunteer opportunities: Please view the signup sheet for open volunteer opportunities. We ask that any packaged snacks or sodas are dropped off at 3396 River Drive (Tyler’s house) no later than noon on Saturday, September 4th (we will shop for the remaining items needed in the afternoon).

KIDS TENNIS CAMP & ADULT WATER AEROBICS

2021 KIDS SUMMER TENNIS CAMP

Date:  Monday, July 26th – Thursday, July 29th 

Rain Date:  Friday, July 30 will be a make-up day for rain

Time:  4:30pm – 6:00pm

Cost:  $60.00 per kid (all ages accepted)

           $20.00 per day (drop-in daily rate)

If a family has more than one kid, they receive a discount of $10.00 per kid making it $50.00 per kid.

If you are interested, please reply by THIS FRIDAY at 12:00 noon.

Also, if we have some parents that would like to participate as “coach assistants”, please reply.   

JULY WATER AEROBICS CLASSES

Days:  Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays

Time:  8:00AM – 9:00 am

Cost:  $40 per month

Drop-in’s available $5 cash per class

Water shoes are necessary to participate

Last class will be held on Friday, July 30th

We’d like to welcome you to celebrate July 4th with us! We heard great feedback regarding the food truck and also heard that you’d like more than one next time – well we are pleased to announce we will have two trucks!

It takes a lot to pull off these events and we are opening up a few volunteer slots for the party! You will receive work credit for your help – please look over the signup genius if you are interested.

Style of the day: Picnic BYOF “Bring Your Own Food” or enjoy the food truck – please note that we have made the best estimate on # of guests for the food trucks. Please keep in mind the time we’ve booked the trucks.

  • Food Truck #1 : (12pm – 2pm) Big Burgers and Wings
  • Food Truck #2: (12pm – 2pm) The FreshTruck
  • Items provided by the Club:
    • Individually wrapped Chips/Cookies
    • Popsicles for the kids
    • Drinks: sodas and waters

ICE CREAM SOCIAL   🍦

Saturday, May 29th, ROSRC SOCIAL will be hosting ice cream & popsicles for our kids.  

 🇺🇸     😎    MEMORIAL DAY – Monday, May 31        

As we dive into the pool season, we’d like to celebrate with you and honor all the men and women that have served in the United States Armed Forces!  We will be implementing different measures that will allow us to safely enjoy the day together; as we get closer to Monday, May 31st, we will release full measures and details on what to expect!  In the meantime, we’d like to fill you in on the fun details of the day:

  • Style of the day: Picnic BYOF “Bring Your Own Food” or enjoy the food truck!
  • Big Burgers and Wings Food Truck: 12:00pm – 2:00pm 
  • Kona Ice: 2:00pm – 3:00pm
  • Items provided by the Club:

SWIM TEAM   

SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION IS OPEN! 

We started on Monday May 10th with our practices after school.  It is not too late to join!!!

Elementary aged swimmers 

4:00 – 5:00pm 

Middle school aged swimmers

High school aged swimmers 

5:00 – 6:00pm 

Please make sure your swimmer has goggles, a towel and running shoes for dry land exercises. 

During the summer, our practice times will be held from 9:00am – 11:00am.  

As of May 27th, swim practices will be held:

9:00am – 10:00am for ages 10 and under

10:00am – 11:00am for ages 11 and over

June 1st, evening swim team meets every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 7:30pm – 8:30pm.

It will look and run differently this season, but our main goal this year is to get our swimmers back in the water!  We will have 4 virtual meets, all at River Oak then once the meet is over, we will merge it with our opponent’s results.  There will be a county meet at Georgia Tech July 10, 11.  We will be following CDC Guidelines for COVID 19.  

There will be NO SPECTATORS this year, unless you volunteer!

The pool is open for “swim at your own risk”.  Lifeguards will begin their services on May 20th with the limited schedule listed below.   Lifeguards will begin full day coverage on May 27th.

In accordance with Article VIII, Section 2, the board of directors set the dues for the current semi-annual billing period as: $275. Payment is due by June 1, 2020.  If you have already paid for the whole year – thank you and please disregard this letter.
