ROSRC Members, we hope this newsletter finds you well. We are just a few weeks away from the pool opening for the 2023 pool season. Can you believe it? I always enjoy watching those brave enough to get in the water in May. Your 2023 Board of Directors looks forward to making many memories with you, your families, and your loved ones this summer. Please help me start this month by giving a warm welcome to the newest 2023 Board Member, Colleen Puckett. Colleen will be stepping into the role of Social Chair. We are appreciative of your time and look forward to social events planned for this season. This is a longer newsletter, so please make sure you read it to its entirety. It’s important to stay up to date and involved as a member. General Membership Meeting: Thank you to the 18 families that joined our general membership meeting on April 16th. Your input and suggestions are important to us, and we appreciate your dedication to the success of our club. For those that missed out, one of the significant items discussed was the bathroom renovations and the costs to complete the project. Given the scope of the work and the cost of the project, ROSRC will be hosting several fundraising events to help offset the cost. Please look for the following ways to help out this summer – 1. Club t-shirt sales: The design will be posted in the glass case Memorial Day weekend, and pre-orders will begin on May 29th. 2. Chuck-a-Duck and other raffles during summer parties: Please bring cash to participate and cross your fingers for good luck! 3. Family & Business sponsorships: A separate email will be sent to all members with more information about how you can help fund the building/renovation fund. 4. Social Nights at the Pool: A portion of the cost of the adult swim nights will be donated to the building fund. We are planning some family friend fundraiser nights too. Please keep an eye out for those ways you can help; as always, we are looking for volunteers for both the junior activities and fundraising committees. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please get in touch with Brand Howell at [email protected]. Spring Workdays: As we look forward to opening the pool soon, we need your help getting the pool and grounds ready for the season. We will be holding two opportunities for workday credits. We need all the help we can get! Please email David Hauert, [email protected], if you are planning to attend a spring workday. We will have a few projects to offer to members to complete before we open the pool. Areas of focus will be grounds, pool deck, and the pavilion. Further details will be sent to those who reply with interest in participating. Workday 1: Saturday, April 29th 9am – 2pm Workday 2: Saturday, May 15th 9am – 2pm ROSRC Membership: We are about to enter “membership season,” when parents realize that school will end soon and kids need something to do. In addition to the new members listed in a prior newsletter, we have added the Erik & Murphy Lindbloom family. Please make them feel welcome. Also, if you have misplaced a key card, Ann Porter our membership director, will help reissuing a new card. Replacement key cards are $10 each, cash or check.
